Artwork

Can be sent via email or on cd, dvd, zip disk or floppy. Please use Vector art layered files, Illustrator is preferred. We can work with most any type of artwork file. The better quality artwork supplied, the better the finished product will be.

GENERAL TOLERANCES:

Thermal printing or embossing should be:

· 1/8" from edge of card

· 1/8" from holes, slots, scores, etc.

· 1/16" from signature panels or embossed areas

· 1/8" from all sides of mag stripe

· 1/8" from all sides of thermal imaging (barcode, PIN numbers, etc.)

For scanning purposes, most barcodes need a white 'Silent Area' before and after the printed image. The size of this area is to be determined by customer.

Presswork Bleed Edges

Artwork for bleed edges must extend a minimum of 1/8" beyond the cut lines.

Screen Tints and/or Halftones

All line screens to be provided as 100% size negative, right reading, emulsion side down.

Standard line screens for offset printing are 150 lines per inch (lpi) or 300 (dpi)

Trapping

Trapping will vary with method of printing and complexity of design.

For offset printing, a minimum of .25 - .50 point trap should be allowed.

Typeset Copy

For best results, fonts should not be smaller than 5 pt. Also, serif and script type fonts are difficult to reproduce, especially as reverse copy.

ELETRONIC ARTWORK

Artwork can be submitted from most programs, including but not limited to, Photoshop, Quark, Corel and most common programs. We prefer Vector art or layered Photoshop files. Please do not use web images, .jpg or bmps.

Artwork can be submitted on the following disks:

· 3.5" diskette

· DVD or CD

· Email

Provide the following with each submission:

· All image files

· All screen and printer fonts

· Quality Digital Proof (100% size)

Indicate file name, software type and version

Proofs

One proof will be provided at no additional charge. Additional paper/fax proofs, Color Keys, etc. are available, and will be billed at current rates.

Files containing line screens, 4-color process, etc. will be billed at current rates.

Files that need additional work prior to output will be billed at current rates.

Press Proofs

Actual press printed proofs are available and will be charged at current rates. Rates determined at time of request.
