Below are general terms used in printing that will help you to better communicate with us, making it easier to get the exact printed product you need.
Artwork
Copy supplied by customer to created printed product
Approval
Customer approval of artwork after all layout and design has been performed and copy is ready for production. No printing will be done with out express customer approval
Lead Time
Time allowed for production after receipt of approved artwork. This does not include transit time
CR80 30
Standard credit card size of 2 1/8 x 3 3/8 (2.125 x 3.375) and 30 Mils thick
Proof
A representation of what the finished product will look like, there are different levels of proofs, low, medium and high. Low will give position and the basics, medium is a more precise with better color accuracy, and high quality proof will be the closest possible to finished printed product.
Press Proof
An actual printed card for proofing purposes, there are additional charges for press proofs base on number colors printed and complexity of finished product.
Thermal printing
A process used to personalize cards, it is smooth and flat on the card surface.
Embossing
Raised letter personalization, like a credit card, can be tipped in many different colors.
Tipping
A color ribbon transferred with heat to the embossed characters to “color' them, standard colors are gold, silver, black and white
